Artist Victor Ribas
His art is both deeply personal and widely public, glorifying the beauty of the human body, combining the classical traditions of painting with the modern man's aspirations for the future, which expand the possibilities of his brain and body
Victor Ribas is famous for his photographic technique of capturing images in total darkness. During the Soviet era, he conceived the idea of utilizing a laser for artistic purposes after his first encounter with this unorthodox light source. He had a vision of using a laser for artistic purposes during the Soviet era, following his initial encounter with this unusual light source. At that time laser emitters were massive and resembled a weapon from Star Wars. The author calls his works "linear fractal portraits". Visually it consists of multiple luminous lines on the object's surface, shaping its form and volume. Looking at laser pictures by Ribas we can easily see the inner world of objects and the original nature of an individual. This photographic technique as no other reveals such attributes of a person, like emotions, mood and even its occupation and special skills.
