"Laser Portrait. Montenegro"

"Laser Portrait. Montenegro" exhibition is an art-documentary project by artist Victor Ribas, a visual capture of recent events and circumstances that brought people in the amazingly beautiful country of Montenegro after 24 February 2022.
Like many who have left Russia, the artist has his own experience of surviving in the new conditions. This project is a personal statement that draws attention in an extraordinary way and documents the moments of the great exodus from Putin's Russia.
It is an honest exploration of the social environment that surrounds the artist away from home. During the photographic sessions Victor learns from his protagonists about the reasons that made them leave their countries, what they do or plan to do in the new place. Each portrait has, instead of a traditional label, an A4-sized sheet with a personal life story.
The spectacular filming process and the final visual result make it possible to address this project to any audiences in the countries that have welcomed all those who have suffered from the Russian authorities.
The project is realised by the Montenegro European Art Community gallery and the Nova Riznica Balkan with the assistance of Shanet Art Gallery (San Francisco - Chicago) and the Pristaniste Refugee Fund (Budva).
